After several years perfecting and honing their art, the four musketeers: Seth
Troxler, Ryan Crosson, Lee Curtiss and Shaun Reeves, collectively known as
Visionquest, unleash their sonic imprint upon the earth.
Its debut release is an introduction to new members of the Visionquest family as
their great friends and production maestros Benoit & Sergio deliver the freaky
and flavoursome Where The Freaks Have No Name. Presenting the first release on
the most eagerly anticipated new label of recent times, Benoit & Sergio are
techno producers with great electro pop sensibilities with previously notable
releases on Spectral Sound and a forthcoming well-hyped release on DFA in early
2011.
Hailing from Washington DC, and dividing their time between there and Berlin,
this three track EP highlights their comprehensive production skills perfectly.
The opening track Walk and Talk is a classic example of romo-tech, a heart felt
lament to an anesthetized lover; quintessential romantic techno. Contextualized
rhythms and sounds pop in and out of the hypnotic groove as the ethereal vocal
adds yet more hallucinogenic resonance to this masterpiece of a track. It has
already proved popular, a staple in the sets of the Visionquest brigade this
summer and a firm favourite with the crowds. The title track of the E.P.
Where The Freaks Have No Name, is another killer slice of electronic psychosis,
undulating arpeggios and ominous sonic sound sledges sedate the rhythm and drive
the . Finally the last opus Day Residue evokes a great 80s feel, almost
Moroderesque in execution, clocking in at almost 10 minutes this is an epic
piece of electronic music so beautifully made, it could have been made on the
moon.

The Visionquest label is cultivating an immaculate reputation for fresh and
beguiling sounds, joining the dots from celestial pop to deep techno. Now
presenting a special Club Collection Spring Summer 2011 the label showcases some
of 2011s most promising artists.Vernon Bara & Igor Vicente set the precedent
with their rolling tech masterpiece Dont Feel No Way - a powerful blend of
compelling drive and intergalactic energy. Textured percussion and a rumbling
bassline build the momentum and a soulful electric voice descends from outer
space as the electrifying currents of deep techno take hold and dont let go.
Belgium born Igor Vicente and Vernon Bara were early party friends in their
hometown of Mons and have only recently come together after a string of solo
projects. Bara has stacked up over 200 productions and remixes on labels such as
OM, OFF, Robsoul and Toys For Boys and Igor Vicente runs one of Belgiums most
successful underground parties Wildfamily. Making their debut on Baras
Homecoming Recordings last year, Igor & Vernon are breaking through to make
their mark on Visionquest.Flipping over to the B side, Matthew Burton & Nick
Lawson get into the deeper groove with Gruff It, a sexy slice of tech house.
Weird and trippy FX underpinned by the moody funk bassline, delicious kicks and
tightly crafted beats and bleeps give Gruff It edgy soul. Hailing from
Nottingham, Matthew has been conveying his style via UK labels Leftroom and
Retrofit as well as Ultrastretch in Berlin where he also holds monthly parties
with Sammy Dee. Nick Lawson co-owns SheWolf Music and has delivered releases on
Morris Audio and Leftroom. Meeting on the scene in Nottingham, the two producers
discovered a strong musical connection and regularly zone out in the studio to
make their stripped warehouse style groove music. Their party Busta Groove,
first held in Berlin, is now shaking joints in London and Nottingham.Last but by
no means least, Leeds-based Laura Jones gets ready to cement her place in the
Visionquest canon by lending her cool, melodic style to the package. About to
become a household name in dance music, Lauras debut Intentions tore up the
dancefloor of DC10 last summer and her shining contribution to the recent
Leftroom VA release Love In Me was a massive hit at Miami WMC seducing all with
its bright old school charms. Live A Little is a classic cut of fluid house
grooves and hypnotic sunrise techno, warm and gritty in equal measure.

Dinky, the Chilean-born, Berlin based DJ and producer makes her Visionquest
debut with a superb three track EP of mesmerizing beauty and elegance. Dinky
needs no introduction, DJing and producing for over a decade, releasing some
serious game-changers on labels Cocoon (the classic Acid In My Fridge recently
reworked by the Visionquest boys), Wagon Repair (Anemik LP, one of RAs albums of
the year 2010), Crosstown Rebels (Get Lost 03 mix CD) and most recently Ostgut
Ton, Dinky also runs her own imprint, Horizontal, specialising in her distinct
brand of organic tech-house. A-side Teka is a monster of a track; it effortless
builds and builds, seducing the listener and transporting them away into the
stratosphere, pure dance floor medicine for the body and mind. The flip features
This Is Your Heart a deep groove-meister of a track, sonic seductions ambient
waves and housey congas, spliced with shimmering to maximum effect. Finally,
Time To Lose It is a voyage into languorous, trippy funk balanced by an
absorbing folkloric hymn, its easy to get lost in the lush melodic, groove and
spaced out beats featuring Dinkys own vocals. Creating three entirely different
